For October, I will be releasing a new track called “Broken Man“. Here is a behind the scenes peek at the work in progress:
I knew this song needed to be dynamic – capturing the quietness of breath and the raging fury of battle. It needed to build and break. And it needed to resolve with hope. The song builds slowly but surely – the introduction comes in quietly with piano; the verse fills with vocals, violin, and cello; the pre-chorus introduces the guitars, bass guitar, and percussion; and the chorus drives with distorted guitars, punches with staccato cello, and soars with vibrant violin. Finally, the instrumentation drops out after the last chorus, bringing the song back to soft vocals, simple piano, and a few flourishes of acoustic guitar, ending with a D major chord making a Picardy third.
