I was recently interviewed by Verbicide Magazine for their Unsigned Spotlight feature :)

What’s the best part of being an independent musician, and how do you get the message out about your music and connect to fans?

Being an independent artist is all about being able to create the music and image that you want to make. In the past, I tried the more traditional route. A major record label was even interested in signing me. But the problem with signing on that line is that you sign away your entire life… and everything that you are. I like to create music from the soul, from personal experience. I wish to grow as an artist and incorporate new techniques and styles as I learn them. When you are controlled by a label, you can only do the things they believe will be lucrative, which means you will be pigeonholed into a single genre, a single sound. Rag Doll

Release Date:

Summer 2011

When a heated argument between Adam Wurlitz and his pregnant girlfriend lands Adam unjustly behind bars, life for Adam changes drastically. Now out on probation, Adam secures a residence and job maintaining the grounds for a well-off entrepreneur, Lou Mercola. As Adam tours his new “home”, Lou introduces Adam to his son, Daniel, who hasn’t spoken a word in years.

Over the course of the following weeks, Adam is witness to Lou’s unwarranted physical abuse on the young boy and soon Adam is horrified to discover that Daniel’s abuse goes far beyond just physical. The night he discovers this horrific truth, life once again changes for Adam forever as he instinctively flees with Daniel in an effort to protect him.

Unaware that he has left Daniel’s medication behind, Adam and Daniel hit the road headed out of the country and the duo become fast friends with an unbreakable bond.

It is our hope to not only entertain our viewers but to also raise awareness and support for real children afflicted by physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. As the numbers rise, we must fight this unfortunate problem. That is why 30% of all profits made from the film, premiere, festival winnings, and/or distribution deals will be donated to the Kids House of Seminole, Inc. in Sanford, Florida. Kids House of Seminole is a charity offering many services to children who suffer at the hands of abuse.
